The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N5.9 billion for the construction of access roads that will link the Abuja light rail system to other parts of the city.
This was disclosed by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Monday, October 30, after the weekly Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
Wike revealed that the president has given a deadline for the completion of the Abuja light rail project, which is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve transportation in the nation’s capital.
He added that the access roads are necessary to ensure that commuters can easily access the railway stations from different locations.
