Social micro blogging app, Twitter has been agog with news of Ackquille Jean Pollard, popularly known as Bobby Shmurda getting released after spending six years in prison for murder.

The Brooklyn rapper was arrested during a raid at Quad Studios in Manhattan a month after his debut EP ‘Shmurda She Wrote’ was released. According to XXL Mag, the Police raid uncovered about 21 guns, crack cocaine and marijuana.

However, in 2016 he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven years in prison which was eventually reduced to five years. Though expected to be released by December, 2020 a Twitter user has disclosed that Bobby Shmurda’s website was updated with a countdown that ends on Tuesday, August 4th at 8:00PM EST. This has since cause some reactions as fans has started speculating on the actual release of the rapper.

As at the time of filing this report, fans have started anticipating his comeback into the music industry with many saying his first video will top charts.

In the wake of Bobby Shmurda’s arrest, the Police alleged that the rapper was caught flashing a gun in an apartment when a security team went to investigate a crime scene and had tried to hide the weapon in the couch. He was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon. He was then charged with conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, drug and gun possession. He was held on $2m bail.
