Egypt Constructs Second-Largest Stadium In Africa

Egypt has completed the construction of its new administrative capital stadium in the administrative capital of country.

According to report from VlastNG, the stadium which has a capacity of 93,440 people has been under construction since 2019. It is the largest in Egypt presently and the second largest in Africa, after Johannesburg stadium located in South Africa.

The stadium was designed by Michael KC Cheah, who designed the King Fahd International Stadium in Saudi Arabia. It was inspired by the Egyptian Royal necklace.

It has a training ground, two indoor halls – 15,000 capacity hall and an 8,000-capacity hall for handball, an Olympic-size swimming pool, main and minor tennis courts, an equestrian club, squash courts, and other buildings.

It will become the main stadium and will replace the Borg El Arab Stadium built in Alexandria, which has a capacity of 86,000.

The African country plans to submit bids to host the 2030 World Cup and 2032 Olympics games with its state-of-the-art stadium. The country can now boasts over 27 stadiums to its name.
