Veteran broadcaster and actress Doyin Kukoyi has been named among the judges for the maiden edition of Ikorodu Division’s Got Talent, as Ikorodu Oga Radio and TV begins its search for creative talents across the division.
Kukoyi, known for hosting the popular Yoruba entertainment programme Gbajumo Osere, is one of seven judges unveiled by the organisers for the talent competition.
She will sit on the panel alongside Gbemisola Duyile, John Oguntuase, Ayodele Enoch, TalkTalk, Demola Adeyemi and Ikorodu Oga Radio and TV founder, Peju Akinyemi.
The announcement places Kukoyi, who has spent years working across broadcasting, acting and filmmaking, among those who will assess contestants competing in the new talent platform.
Kukoyi has a longstanding connection with Ikorodu. She attended Oriwu College in the community and has previously spoken about how her experiences there contributed to her development in broadcasting and entertainment.
The competition is being organised as part of Ikorodu Oga Radio and TV’s 10th anniversary activities and is open to talents across Ikorodu Division.
The organisers said the competition will cover different creative fields, including music, dance, comedy, acting, spoken word, arts and crafts and other forms of creative expression.
The initiative follows the organisation’s earlier You Think You Can Sing? Music Challenge, which was focused on discovering young musical talents.
For the new competition, the organisers are expanding the search beyond music to bring different categories of creatives under one platform.
The winner of Ikorodu Division’s Got Talent will receive a ₦1 million star prize, with other prizes also available for contestants.
Entries are currently open for the maiden season as the organisers begin receiving applications from aspiring talents across the division.
