Despite Denying He Wrote The Song, Wizkid Wins Major Award For Drake’s One Dance

Starboi lead act, Ayo Balogun better known as Wizkid continues his winning streak this 2017 as he has been honored for writing Drake’s Grammy’s nominated hit, ‘One Dance’.

Wizzy recently got the a plaque from music group, American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) who is celebrating him for writing One Dance which appears to be the biggest song off Drake’s last album, Views.

The ASCAP Award plaque

This is coming despite denials from Wizkid that he penned the song. The ‘Daddy Yo’ hitmaker in June last year denied writing the song which he was also featured on. Wizkid went as far as calling talented singer, Seyi Shay a liar after she revealed in an interview that he wrote the song.

“She lied”, he tweeted in response to a fan’s enquiry about Seyi Shay’s claim.

However the Ascap award given on Wednesday has vindicated the ‘Murder’ songstress.

Ascap sent the award to the starboi boss as the track topped the Billboard Hot 100 for a record time of 10 weeks.
Asides Wizkid, Drake also featured British singer, Kyla.
