As tributes continue to pour in following the death of veteran Juju musician, Dayo Kujore, his daughter, Ayinke has declared that her father was aged 69.
This is contrary to what many people and some news platforms believe. Multiple reports had erroneously pegged the late singer’s age at 64.
Ayinke made the clarification in a post on her Instagram page on Tuesday, saying his burial arrangements would be announced later.
The post read, “The family of Wonder Adedayo Kujore, the Soko Music exponent, wishes to inform the general public officially of his death. Dayo Kujore died yesterday morning at the Lagos state university teaching hospital Ikeja, after a brief illness.
“He was 69 years old and is survived by children and many grandchildren. His body has been deposited in the morgue while the burial arrangements will be announced later by the family.”
Kujore, who was one of the modern-day pioneers of Juju music in Nigeria, breathed his last in the earlier hours of Monday, as announced by his daughter.
