A new biopic celebrating the life and leadership of Lagos State University (LASU) Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has been unveiled.
Titled Madam Vice-Chancellor: Against the Odds, the film chronicles the resilience, courage and leadership journey of Olatunji-Bello, who serves as the university’s ninth Vice-Chancellor.
The official poster for the movie was unveiled by Olawunmi Oni, the founder of Women and Girls Empowerment Foundation International (WOGEFI), which also doubles as the organisation behind the project.
The film is produced by the founder of WOGEFI and is described as a project aimed at highlighting women’s leadership and the challenges overcome in rising to positions of influence.
The premiere is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2026, marking the beginning of the film’s journey to the screen.
The production team said the project seeks to celebrate Olatunji-Bello’s story while highlighting themes of resilience, leadership and determination.
The biopic is expected to attract members of the university community, women’s empowerment advocates and other stakeholders interested in leadership and the advancement of women.
