Dangote/BRT Accident Update: 3 Dead, 39 Injured

Following an earlier report of an accident on Lagos-Ikorodu road near Itowolo, today, a reliable source at the Ikorodu General Hospital told BlackBox Nigeria that three Dead on Arrival (DOA) have been brought to the hospital.

He noted that amongst the deceased, is the driver of the Primero Bus Rapid Transit, while the condition of the Dangote Driver that vied into the BRT lane has not been confirmed.

Our correspondent also gathered that about 39 severely injured victims were also brought to the hospital warranting the management to refer them to nearby hospitals.

As against our earlier report of only injuries, another staff of the hospital who does not want her name published said corroborated that the victims, “are being brought to General Hospital, Ikorodu. Not only injured victims, some are dead on arrival.”

She stated further that, “Close to 39 are seriously injured and being taken care of in the facility. 3 has been confirmed dead including the BRT driver.

“While some of the victims are being referred to nearby hospitals, ” he said.

The Dangote truck was carrying a truck load of cement from the Ikorodu Lighter Terminal Depot while the BRT bus was heading to CM-S
