Controversial media personality, Daddy Freeze, has ignited a heated debate within the Nigerian religious community by taunting pastors who have remained silent regarding Ilebaye Odiniya’s N12 million tithe offer from her N120 million prize money as the Big Brother Naija All Stars winner.

Despite numerous clerics condemning the reality show as “immoral,” Daddy Freeze pointed out that none of them have spoken out against the winner’s intention to donate a substantial portion of her winnings to her church.

Daddy Freeze, known for his outspoken views on religious matters, took to his Instagram page to express his thoughts, stating,

“Many pastors say Big Brother is an immoral show… Ilebaye bring N12m tithe from N120m prize money, everybody quiet.”

The controversial On-Air Personality (OAP) raised an essential question about the consistency of the stance taken by some religious leaders.

While many Nigerian pastors have openly criticized Big Brother Naija for its perceived immorality, their silence regarding the tithe offer has fueled accusations of hypocrisy.

It’s not the first time Daddy Freeze has critiqued the financial practices of Nigerian churches.

He has previously criticized the emphasis on material wealth in some church congregations, often using the term “worship of mammon” to describe this phenomenon.

This recent incident further highlights the perceived disconnect between preaching against certain behaviors and accepting substantial financial contributions that seemingly contradict those teachings.

The online community has been abuzz with reactions to Daddy Freeze’s comments, with some individuals supporting his view that religious leaders should take a consistent stance against all forms of perceived immorality, while others argue that the tithe offer should be seen as a positive step towards supporting the church.
