The draws for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) were unveiled, setting the stage for an exciting tournament.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, a powerhouse in African football, now have a clear picture of their group-stage opponents.

The draw placed Nigeria in Group A, alongside the host nation and two-time AFCON champions, Ivory Coast.

Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau complete the quartet of teams in this group.

This arrangement ensures a thrilling opening match between Nigeria and the host nation, Ivory Coast.

The 2023 AFCON was initially scheduled for the preceding year but was rescheduled to prevent player burnout due to the World Cup held at the end of last year.

The event in Abidjan was graced by the presence of notable African football legends, such as Mikel Obi, Taribo West, Aristide Bance, and Yaya Toure.
