Crisis in APC as Deputy Chairman tells Oshiomhole to step down as party head
This is not the best of time for the ruling All Progressives Congress as the party continues to face hard times. Despite being the majority political party in Nigeria having produced the President and has a majority amongst the governors as well as the National Assembly, the party has continued to have infighting within her ranks.

The latest crack is coming from up North as the Deputy National Chairman of the APC in the North, Senator Lawal Shuaibu has called on the Chairman of the Party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to resign.
According to Shuiabu in an open letter “APC: It’s fortune and misfortune, time to act!” dated Monday, May 28, 2019, Oshiomhole has failed to improve the fortunes of the party than he met it when he took over.

He accused Oshiomhole of being the cause of the party’s dwindling popularity stating that his (Oshiomhole)’s “ability to ensure the is party flourishes is deficient.”
“We had 23 states in 2015 but after the 2019 elections we have lost 7 states. We also had 60 senators in 2019 but at the end of the election count, we now end up with 57 in 2019! You were not brought in to lose election, it is absolutely unacceptable,” the letter read.
Senator Shuaibu in his letter further stated that in “advanced democracies, people who fail to add value or build over and above what they met on assumption of duty show some civilised examples, they honourably now out.”
