COVID-19: NCDC Records 600 New Infections, Toll 155,076

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 600 new cases of COVID-19 in 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This development brings the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 155,076, as the second wave of the pandemic lingers on.

The health agency made the confirmation via an update on its official website, on Friday night.

Also, 11 new deaths were also recorded in the last 24 hours, as total fatality now stands at 1,902. Till date, the NCDC has discharged 132,544 patients who were treated and recovered from COVID-19.

Breakdown

The 600 new cases are reported from – Lagos (169), Taraba (92), Ogun (65), Cross River (57), FCT (38), Rivers (28), Kwara (26), Akwa Ibom (25), Osun (21), Plateau (12), Borno (9), Gombe (9), Abia (8), Ebonyi (8), Ekiti (7), Kano (7), Delta (6), Oyo (6), Bauchi (3), Nasarawa (3), and Sokoto (1).

“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities,” it added.
