COVID-19: Lagos discharges 10 more patients, as toll climbs 981 nationwide

Ten patients undergoing treatment at the Lagos State isolation centres have recovered and discharged- Babajide-Sanwo Olu.

The Lagos State, while making the disclosure, via a Tweet, Friday, said the discharged patients included three foreigners.

“Even with the number of cases rising, we are happy to celebrate our success stories because they show that a positive #COVID19 case isn’t necessarily a case of doom and gloom.

“Today, 10 patients – three females and seven males, including three foreigners have been discharged from our facilities.”

“We are encouraged by these discharged cases and the support we have received from the citizens of the state in the battle against #COVID-19 but I urge us all not to relent because it is imperative that we win.

“Remember to practice great personal hygiene and join our #MaskUpLagos campaign by using a face-mask whenever you are in public.” The governor tweeted.

In other news, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, Thursday, confirmed 108 new cases of coronavirus in the country.

NCDC, while making the disclosure in a Tweet, said three persons died from coronavirus-related complications in the country, making the number of fatalities rise to 31.

” On the 23rd of April 2020, 108 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria. Till date, 981 cases have been confirmed, 197 cases have been discharged and 31 deaths have been recorded in Nigeria.

“The 108 new cases are reported from eight states – Lagos (78), Federal Capital Territory/Abuja (14), Ogun (5), Gombe (four), Borno (3), Akwa Ibom (2), Kwara (1), Plateau (1).”

“As of 11:30 pm on 23rd April, cases by state: Lagos -582, FCT-133, Kano-73, Ogun-29, Katsina -21, Osun -20, Oyo – 17, Edo – 17, Borno – 12, Kwara – 11, Akwa Ibom – 11, Kaduna – nine, Gombe – nine, Bauchi – eight, Delta – six, Ekiti – four, Ondo – three, Rivers – three, Jigawa – two, Enugu – two, Niger – two, Abia – two, Benue – one, Anambra – one, Sokoto – one, Adamawa – one, Plateau – one.” NCDC wrote.
