Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable has again made headlines, albeit for the right reasons.
The street artiste, whose rise to stardom was drama-filled, has bagged two nominations at the 15th edition of the Headies. Interestingly, this is the first time he would be nominated for the prestigious music awards.
The controversial singer was listed in the ‘Rookie Of The Year’ category, alongside other rising music talents such as Av, Fave, Magixx and Ugoccie.
For his breakout hit single, “Zazoo Zehh” featuring YBNL boss, Olamide and celebrity dancer, Poco Lee, Portable was nominated for the ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste’.
Others in the category include Bella Shmurda’s “Cash App” featuring Zlatan & Lincoln, “Kpk” by Rexxie & Mohbad – “Kpk”, Mohbad’s “Feel Good”, Naira Marley’s “Koleyewon” and Nektunez & Goya Menor’s “Ameno Amapiano (Remix).
The singer took to his Instagram page on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate his feat, saying he worked hard for the nominations.
