The Media arm of the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, the Centre of Information, Press and Public Relations on Thursday celebrated members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm at a gathering used to round up End of Year activities.

Coordinator of CIPPR, Mr Ademola Adekoya in his opening speech disclosed that members of the Media in the course of the year played a major role in ensuring that activities of the Citadel of Learning spreads across the State and entire nation.

He noted that the Centre organised the event so as to appreciate members of the Press and also present Awards to worthy individuals whose contributions can’t be forgotten.

Topping the list of Awardees is a veteran Radio Presenter, Jimi Disu who was given a Special Recognition Award for his meritorious and educational activities. The Award was presented by the Chief Host, Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun SAN.

Best Reporter (Print), Mr Mojeed Alabi moments after receiving his Award

TVC’s Foremost breakfast show, Your View was also presented with a Special Recognition Award and one of the Co-hosts, Nyma Akashat-Zibiri was on ground to receive the Award for the Ladies of the Show. The VC also presented the Award as he spoke on the educational values the Ladies share on the talk show which has been on since 2013.

New Telegraph Newspaper’s journalist, Mr Mojeed Alabi won the Best (Print) Reporter of the Year, Male category as Guardian Newspaper’s Mrs Iyabo Lawal won the Female category. NAN’s Mrs Joke Adeyemi won the Best Online Reporter category.

The Media Parley and Awards was well attended by the rank and file of the University Management, including Heads of Departments, Colleges, special guests and members of the University Community.
