“Burna Boy Was Never Declared WANTED”- Singer’s Management Speaks

 

 

Burna Boy’s management, Spaceship Entertainment moments ago broke it’s silence on the allegations of Police declaring one of artists WANTED for a robbery related case.

News was rife on Monday that the Lagos State Police Command had declared the singer wanted for his alleged connection in the robbery of fellow entertainer, Mr 2Kay, but in the press statement released on Tuesday, the Yawa Dey crooner was only invited for questioning.

The Police declaration BlackBox Nigeria learnt was arrived at after the suspected robbers confessed to have been hired by Burna Boy and his road manager, Joel Kantiock. It was gathered that the Police has also arrested Kantiock.

According to the statement, Burna Boy was only invited on Monday, November 20th for his connection in the robbery incident against Mr 2Kay while he was at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island on October 22nd. Personal items worth Milllions of Naira were reportedly stolen during the invasion.

The statement added that the invitation has since been honoured by the accused who is cooperating with the Police in the course of their investigations. See below for the full statement…

Lagos, Nigeria. November 21, 2017

The management of Burna Boy (Spaceship Entertainment) hereby makes an official statement regarding the news that Burna Boy has been declared wanted by the police.

We use this medium to categorically state that Burna Boy, is not in any way involved with the robbery and beating up of Grafton Records artiste, Mr. 2Kay on the 22nd of October, 2017.

The first and only invitation Burna Boy has ever received from the police was issued yesterday November 20th, 2017. This invitation was honored yesterday November 20th, 2017 and it has been made clear that he is happy to cooperate with the police as best as he can.

It is pertinent to note that he was never served an arrest warrant nor has he been declared wanted.

We are confident that the Nigerian police will deal with this fairly and professionally.
