Buhari Holds Meeting With Security Chiefs Over Insecurity
President Muhammadu Buhari moments ago met behind closed doors with top Security Chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the meeting which was held inside the President’s office had in attendance Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali; National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno who led the security Heads to the meeting.
Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Yusuf Buratai; Chief of Air Staff, Sadiq Abubakar and Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.
Also at the meeting were Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and newly appointed Director General of National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Abubakar, who is attending the security meeting for the first time since his recent appointment.
The security meeting is coming at a time the spate of killing by people suspected to be Fulani herdsmen militia across the country with Benue State bearing the highest number of killed people.
In addition, the emergency security meeting is coming days after former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo PhD highlighted the shortcomings of the Buhari-led administration in the area of security as he listed the killings as one of the issues it had failed to address headlong.
