By The death of a prominent member of National Union of Road Transport Workers in Oshodi area of Lagos State has caused unrest in the area.
BlackBox Nigria gathered that the member, Rasaq Bello aka Hamburger was killed in Shogunle area, Oshodi during the Local Council Primaries of the All Progressives Congress held inside Shogunle Town Hall on Monday.
It was reported that the clash broke out between Hamburger’s group and another led by Samson Adetoye aka Golden. It all started when the election was abruptly aborted by members who protested for modalities for the conduct of the exercise.
It was further gathered that Hamburger’s group laid seige on Golden’s group at their base in Awo Owu Street, an incident that witnessed both parties shooting themselves and eventually the leader of the attackers was hit in the middle of the shooting.
Hamburger who happens to be the Treasurer of Lagos State Tricycle Operators, an arm of the NURTW was a major casualty of the clash and it has caused some residents in the area fleeing their homes for the fear of reprisal attacks.
A resident disclosed to BBN that the Oshodi area is currently not friendly and should be skipped for the time being so that the security agencies can restore normalcy in the environment.
