BBN Exclusive: Names of recently sacked LASU lecturers

BlackBox Nigeria earlier on revealed that the management of Lagos State University has terminated the appointment of some of her teaching staff for failing to acquire the required PhD several years after being in the employ of the citadel.

We have now uncovered the names of some of the affected lecturers who cut across different departments and faculties of the University which has been adjourned the second best in recent times.
In no particular order, here are some of the names BlackBox Nigeria has been able to uncover.

1. Amos Oloruntele (Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Science)
2. Tony Ajala (Department of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management, Faculty of Management Science)
3. Ahmed Ogundipe (Department of Marketing, Faculty of Management Science)
4. Shabi Olawale (Department of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management, Faculty of Management Science)
5. Bukola Adedoyin (Department of English, Faculty of Arts)
6. Oladapo Balogun (Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts)
7. Oluwatoyin Idowu (Department of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management, Faculty of Management Science)

8. Bello Cestus (Department of Banking and Finance, Faculty of Management Science)

9. Oyegunle Suraj (Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Arts)

10. Mr Olatunji (Department of Business Law, Faculty of Law)

BlackBox Nigeria has further gathered that some of the affected lecturers have challenged the termination of their appointments by writing to the University council to overturn the decision. It was further gathered that some of the affected lecturers have in fact been able to obtain their PhD which were however not recorded at the time of gathering the list.
One of these persons is Oluwatoyin Idowu whom BlackBox Nigeria has learnt only recently finished his Doctorate program from the same LASU. He however obtained his PhD from the Department of Business Administration.

A source however further disclosed to BlackBox Nigeria that this issue is not a fresh matter as it has been an ongoing case for a while now. The source alleged that the story was leaked to the media by interested parties who are aimed at using the story to discredit a candidate for the about to be vacant position of Vice Chancellor.
It would be recalled that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who is the visitor of LASU recently requested for a fresh process into the appointment of VC after the initial process was reported to have been flawed.
BlackBox Nigeria was further informed that the University council might be faced with a face saving situation after erring in the first process which saw the emergence of three names which were sent to the state government via the Special Adviser on Education, Tokunbo Wahab. It was gathered that the selection process violated guidelines for such activities.
