By Embattled Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
Since April 2021, Baba Ijesha has been entangled in a messy rape trial for allegedly sexually assaulting the minor who happens to be the foster daughter of comedienne, Damilola Adekoya alias Princess.
The movie star was arraigned before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Special Offences Court, on Thursday.
After standing the case down for a few minutes, the judge slammed the embattled actor with a 16-year jail term, adding that the jail term will run concurrently.
Taiwo, in a two-hour judgement, had earlier convicted Baba Ijesha of indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault and attempted sexual assault.
Taiwo, however, discharged and acquitted the actor of count one and count six, which were: sexual assault by penetration and attempted sexual assault by penetration.
