Asipa Kaoli Drops Out Of Lagos East Senatorial Race

A major contender for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Lagos East Senatorial Election, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya has bowed out of the race.

In a statement signed and made available to the Media on Monday, Asipa Kaoli disclosed that his decision to step aside from the race was concluded after his consultation with Lagos East people and the Party. He added that being a party loyalist, all his aspirations must be in line with the party’s interest.

He added that he also so far enjoyed the cooperation accorded him by his constituents and happy to have been loyal to all and sundry in the politics of the Senatorial District and maintained that he will continue to support the party’s choice.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that Asipa’s decision is coming on heels of report that the party leadership has endorsed top banker, Tokunbo Abiru as the party’s candidate for the Bye Election slated for October, 2020.

His official statement reads. “It gives me great pleasure to once again address you all through this medium concerning my desire to represent the Lagos East senatorial district at the national assembly.

Like I said earlier, it is an aspiration built on my conviction that our senatorial district desires the very best of representation after the unfortunate demise of distinguish Senator Bayo Osinowo, our late representative.

Suffice me to add that the expectations of the people from me humbled me; their confidence in my ability made me appreciate God and my leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for all the opportunities of the past and present. And to all the good people of Lagos East, I say a big thank you.

However, like I have always said, the thrust of my politics is always the interest of the PARTY and the PEOPLE. For me to forge ahead in any desire or aspiration, it must be in tune with these two factors. I have never been known to run contrary to the dictates of these factors in all my political life.

Thus, when it turned out that in the interest of the PARTY, I have to step back and allow someone else to take on the task of representing our district at this time, for some reasons that seriously have to do with the larger interest of our dear state, I saw the development as yet another call to serve through sacrifice.
