Nigerian fast-rising singer, Ololade Ahmed, popularly known as Asake on stage, has clinched the nomination list of the 2024 Grammy Awards with music heavyweights like Davido and Burna Boy.
According to an announcement made by the Recording Academy earlier on Friday morning, Asake’s hit collaboration song with Olamide, his boss at the YBNL, was selected in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category on the 66th Grammy nominations list.
While Burna Boy secured nominations in three additional categories: Best Global Music Album, Best Global Music Performance, and Best Melodic Rap Performance, Davido’s nominations are: ‘Timeless’ – Best Global Music Album, and ‘Feel’ – Best Global Music Performance and one other.
Ever since, Nigerians, including President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, have taken to social media to rejoice with the artistes while congratulating for the feats.
