Following the defection of a member of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Jacob Ajao Adejumo, on Tuesday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded an additional member in the House of Representatives.
Recall that Adejumo left the APC for ADP because he was denied a ticket to contest the elections.
However, the newly-turned APC member has said he was returning home, adding that his defection to the ruling party comes after due consultation with his constituents.
Adejumo, who is the Deputy Chairman of House Committee on Navy, represents Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency.
Meanwhile, his letter of defection was read by Speaker Femi Gbajabiamilla who stated that the number of the members of the party in the house has increased to 305.
“I left the APC before for ADP, because I couldn’t get the ticket. But now I’m going back home. Your (Gbajabiamila) charismatic and all-inclusive, transparent and objective leadership of this house won my admiration for you and the progressives party in moving the nation forward,” Adejumo said in the letter.
