Anxiety as APC reportedly drops 10 presidential aspirants

The Presidential Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified 10 presidential aspirants out of the 23 in the race on different grounds.

This development means that the remaining 13 presidential hopefuls have been cleared to contest for the APC ticket at its primaries billed to hold next week in Abuja.

A former National Chairman of the ruling party, John Oyegun, who heads the committee, made this known to journalists on Friday.

He, however, declined to reveal identities of aspirants that were disqualified.

There are reports that the affected aspirants were dropped on grounds of court cases or health issues.

Oyegun added that contrary to rumours making the rounds, the committee didn’t screen former President, Goodluck Jonathan, ending speculations that the latter may be making a return to Aso Rock on the platform of the APC.
