Some soldiers attached to the OP MESA earlier today invaded Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State to arrest some protesting members of the institution’s Students Union who were agitating against the increment of vocational Study fees from N1,000 to whooping N25,000.
The SUG President; Comrade Sanni Ramon, Vice President, the General Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Welfare Director and some parliament members of the institution were among those arrested by the soldiers.
The protest also came at a time Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun announced on a national television that the school fees was N40,000 but it was revealed that the Students pay a sum of N76,500.
It was reported that the Students Union executive had alongside some other students invaded the Ijagun campus early Tuesday morning disrupting the examination activities which is currently going on.
The aggrieved Students revealed to BlackBox Nigeria that the protest was initiated after students who defaulted the new payment fee were denied entry for the examination.
The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Nuraen Bakenne who denied the protest activity said the students that were barred from writing the exams were yet to complete their registration.
