Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, a gubernatorial aspirant under the flagship of All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned a circulating press release claiming he endorsed Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate.

Ajose alongside other party hopeful like Jandor recently purchase APC’s nomination form pegged at a sum of N50million naira, in a bid to contest at the party’s primaries, signaling a move against consensus.

In a strongly worded disclaimer, Ajose described the publication as “false, unauthorized, and malicious,” insisting it does not reflect his position or that of his campaign organisation.

The statement, which has been making the rounds in sections of the Nigerian media, also suggested Ajose supported decisions of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC). However, he firmly rejected any involvement in such a process.

“I wish to state unequivocally: this publication is fictitious, unsanctioned, and malicious in intent,” Ajose said, adding that neither he nor any authorised representative issued such an endorsement.

He urged Lagos residents and his supporters nationwide to disregard the report, warning media organisations against amplifying what he described as a defamatory and potentially criminal attempt to manipulate public opinion.

Ajose further issued a 12-hour ultimatum to individuals and platforms circulating the statement to retract and delete it, threatening legal action over reputational and electoral damages.

The development comes amid heightened political activity and alignments ahead of the 2027 Lagos governorship race, with endorsements and internal party dynamics increasingly drawing public attention.
