Following a serious attack made on one Odewabi Akinola, a member of Nagari Makowa Motorcycles Owners and Riders Association of Lagos (NNAMORAL), two suspects, Odunlami Olamide (29) and Ibrahim Oluwaseun (27), have been arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 16th April, 2025.
The suspects allegedly assaulted Odewabi and causing a public disturbance at Brentwood Hospital in the Eyita area of Ikorodu.
The suspects, alongside others said to be at large, were charged with four counts bordering on conspiracy, assault, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and causing grievous harm.
According to the charge sheet signed by CSP Akinladw Rafiu and obtained by BlackBox Nigeria, the incident occurred on April 6, 2025, at about 8:30 p.m., when the defendants allegedly conspired to assault Akinola Odewabi.
The prosecution stated that Olamide allegedly stabbed the victim in the left eye with a broken bottle, resulting in permanent damage.
In addition to the physical assault, the accused were also said to have stormed Brentwood Hospital in a group, allegedly intimidating nurses on duty and creating panic within the facility.
The offences are said to contravene sections 411, 168(d), 245, and 173 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
As of the time of filing this report, details on the plea of the defendants or the magistrate presiding over the case were not disclosed but they had been remanded at prison till 11th May, 2025.
The matter has been adjourned for further hearing.
