Dortmund forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the first goal of the 2017 African Cup of Nations when he scored a simple tap in from close range in the 51st minute.

The 2015 African footballer of the year and his teammates were denied all three points as Soares lashed in an 89 minutes stunner to deny the host a winning start to their campaign on home soil.

Guinea Bissau’s J.L. Mendez took home the first Total Man of the match award for his influential performance against the host.
