Zenith Bank has appointed Adaora Umeoji as the first female Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. She will replace Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu whose tenure expires on May 31, 2024 after a five year tenure.

The appointment will take effect from June 1,2024, subject to the approval of the central Bank of Nigeria.

Umeoji is set to become the first female to lead the administrative affairs of the institution since inception and her appointment is in line with the Bank’s executive transition tradition.

Prior to her elevation, she served in different banking capacity and boast close to thirty years experience in cognate banking, with twenty six years spent with Zenith Bank.

Asides her banking experience, Umeoji has distinguished herself as a philanthropist where she founded NGO’s which support less privilege; Pink Breathe Cancer Foundation and the Adorable Foundation that educates, caters for cancer patients and indigent childrrn education.

As a result of her passion for promoting religion through banking activities, she founded the Catholic Bankers Association of Nigeria (CBAN) and also became an honoree of Lady of the Order of Knights of St. John International award by His Holiness Pope Francis.
