The Ikorodu area of Lagos State witnessed a shower of appreciation yesterday as Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, the representative for Ikorodu Federal Constituency, alongside other dignitaries, undertook inspections of ongoing development projects. The visits included Pasoku Street, Akin Ogunkewe road constructions, and the renovation of Ita-Elewa Youth Centre, among others.
Hon. Mobolaji Abubakri Ogunlende, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, and Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Urban and Rural Development, accompanied him on these inspections.
During a visit to Ita-Elewa Youth Center, Hon. Ogunlende commended Hon. Benson for his unwavering commitment to youth development. He highlighted that the Ita-Elewa Youth Center had been handed over to the ministry by Hon. Benson some years ago. The visit served two primary purposes: to inspect the progress of the ongoing renovation work, generously funded by Hon. Benson, and to launch the “Kicking Against Drug Abuse” (LASCADA) campaign, starting in Ikorodu.
Hon. Ogunlende expressed gratitude to Hon. Benson for his invaluable contributions to the community and urged the residents to recognize the significance of these initiatives.
Regarding the road construction projects, Hon. Babajimi Benson stressed the vital role of rural development in the community. He pledged his commitment to collaborate closely with the Special Adviser, Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, to further enhance the construction of vital link roads in the area.
The Special Adviser on Urban and Rural Development lauded Hon. Benson’s enduring dedication to community development. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining the roads once they are handed over upon completion.
Hon. Babajimi Benson also visited the completed Akin Ogunlewe Street road construction in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA. During this visit, he received a warm welcome from the CDA Chairman and other community leaders.
The CDA Chairman expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Benson for the transformative impact of the road construction. He highlighted the road’s immense advantages to the community and requested additional protective measures, such as barricades, to preserve the road from heavy trucks.
Additionally, on behalf of Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, Builder. Sesan Daini, the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Chairman, showered praise on Hon. Benson for his unwavering dedication to the development of Ikorodu. He recalled Hon. Benson’s previous impactful projects in the area and expressed the community’s profound appreciation.
The APC party Chairman in Igbogbo/Bayeku also joined in commending Hon. Babajimi Benson for his outstanding contributions to the community and the nation.
