The Nigerian Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, on Friday said they have made several seizures with duty paid value of N492m.

While addressing newsmen in Owerri, the customs Controller, Federal Operations Unit, Zone C, Owerri, Comptroller Olusemire Kayode gave the break down of the seizures as follows;

1920 bags of 50kg foreign parboiled rice, 2 containers, measuring 1×40 both containing chairs, one container containing 521 bales of second clothing, 1182 cartons of Analgin Injections, 100 ampoules of 5ml, 100×18 pieces, totaling 180, 000 ampoules, amongst others.

Speaking on the devious antics of smugglers, Comptroller Olusemire declared it was the duty of every well-meaning Nigerian to volunteer information that will help stem the activities of smugglers in the nation.

He added that 6 arrests were made and administrative bail has been granted to the suspects.
