60 Days After Lagos LGA Elections, Councils Yet To Appoint Secretaries, Supervising Councillors

60 days after newly elected Lagos State Council chairmen took office with the ruling All Progressives Congress swiping all the seats, there seems to be high level politicking has none of the councils have been able to appoint Secretary to the Local Government (SLG). Ideally, a position that should be top priority as the Secretary is the administrative head of the council.

Investigation by BlackBox Nigeria reveals that the delayed appointment is unconnected with irreconcilable differences amongst the political bigwigs in the state particularly those whose candidates lost out in the party primaries.

A source told BBN360 that the State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode may have been fronting to be involved in the appointing of the Secretaries, but this development didn’t go down well with some of the Council boss. A source in the known stated that the loophole may linger on till the political impasse is resolved between all aggrieved stakeholders.
