That Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has a taste for highly priced and luxurious things is a known fact.
The self-styled OBO (Omo Baba Olowo), loosely translated to mean son of a wealthy man, lives up to his nickname — with his penchant for purchasing expensive items every now and then.
To the delight of his fans and well wishers, the 29-year-old singer, on Thursday, officially opened his multimillion Naira house in Banana Island, an exclusive highbrow area in Lagos.
In this piece, BlackBox Nigeria highlights 5 times Davido made headlines for acquisition of luxury assets.
1. Mansion in Atlanta: The building is a decent two-story palace. The mansion was built in a classical style. The mansion is painted in pastel beige and sand colors. The house reportedly costs about $20 million and was bought in 2018.
2. Diamond crusted watch: Davido’s customized diamond plated Rolex is covered with diamonds on the gold-plated bezel. The 2021 Skeleton Cartier is valued at 30 million Naira and was purchased around May 2021.
3. Bentley Bentayga: The singer also owns a 2018 luxury Bentley Bentayga worth $262,000. It was added to Davido’s fleet of cars in January 2018. The car was bought after his successful 30 billion concerts held in December 2017.
4. 30 BG chain: The DMW boss got the luxury chain at a whooping amount of N150 million Naira. The chain is a customized piece with the inscription 30 BG (30 Billion Gang). It is a diamond encrusted necklace made by American celebrity jeweler, Ice Box.
5. 2021 Rolls Royce & Lamborghini Aventador: In May 2021, the multiple award-winning singer announced that he bought a brand new 2021 Rolls Royce Cullinan. Davido, sometime in November that same year, also jokingly asked for donations to clear the luxury car from the Lagos port, raising about 200 million Naira which he later donated to orphanage homes in the country. To end the year on an interesting note, in December 2021, the “Fia” crooner also gifted himself a brand new Lamborghini Aventador, which he described as an early Christmas gift.
