5 Nigerian Entertainers You Never Knew Were Bi-racial

The term ‘half cast’ otherwise biracial is usually used to describe people who are of two different races.

In the world today, where races have mixed, and lot of the celebrities and even politicians in Nigeria are biracial.

Many of these men and women have made names for themselves either here in Nigeria or wherever they find themselves.

A lot of these biracial citizens have however emerged in the entertainment sector.

BlackBox Nigeria has been able to put together 5 entertainers you never knew were half cast.

1. Adunni Ade

Born in Queens, New York, United States to a German-American mother and a Yoruba Nigerian father, Adunni was raised in Lagos and the United States respectively.

Her Lagos-based father, who is also a successful businessman inspired her to study Accounting and she earned a degree in Accounting at the University of Kentucky in 2008.

She was into housing and insurance sector in the Us before joining the Nigerian movie industry. She landed her first Nollywood role in the Yoruba movie “You or I”.

 

2. Ashley Madekwe

She is a British-Nigerian actress, born in South London, England to a Nigerian father and an English mother. She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she gained a degree in acting.

While attending the school, she appeared in numerous stage productions including King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.

Ashley is well known for her roles as Bambi in the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl and social climber Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama series ‘Revenge’.

 

3. Daddy Freeze

Cool FM’s Ifedayo Olarinde popularly known as Daddy Freeze is a
Controversial Nigerian On Air Personality.

Freeze was born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother. He spent most of his growing years in Ibadan, Oyo State, where he attended the International School bagged a degree in Sociology from the University of Ibadan.

Daddy Freeze began his radio career in 1996 with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), Ibadan and later moved on to Cool FM Lagos in 2001.

He recently announced his intention to leave Cool FM where he has worked for twenty years.

 

4. Ramsey Nouah

He is a Nigerian actor born in Edo State to an Israeli father and a Yoruba mother who hails from Owo, Ondo State. grew up in Surulere, Lagos.

He obtained a diploma in Mass Communications at the University of Lagos, after which he pursued a career in acting.

His acting career kicked off when he starred in the Nigerian TV soap opera ‘Fortunes’ and he has since appeared in numerous films.

 

5. Sade Adu

she is a Nigerian-British singer, songwriter, and actress, known as the lead singer of her eponymous band. Sade was born in Ibadan, Nigeria, but brought up in Essex, England.

She gained recognition as a fashion designer and part-time model, before she joined the band Pride in the early 1980s. She is a Grammy-winning legend with her popularity almost universal.
