As the world begins to count on another 365 days, some Nigerian celebrities witnessed the dawn of both a new year and a new age.
These celebrities have turned to their Instagram page to display beautiful images of themselves and express their gratitude for their double celebration.
Here is a list of some of the Nigerian celebrities that marked their birthdays on New Year’s day.
Mercy Aigbe
Nollywood actress and businesswoman, Mercy Aigbe turned 45 today, January 1, 2023.
In an expression of her joy, the actress uploaded a series of dashing birthday shoot photos.
“M.E.R.C.Y 45th floor unlocked. Happy birthday to me,” she wrote in the caption.
In another of her birthday post, Mercy penned,
“Happy birthday SUPER STAR. Child of Grace. Keep Shining.”
Many of her friends and colleagues have turned to the comment section to share their best wishes to the movie star.
Nengi
Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ star, Rebecca Hampson, popularly known as Nengi, shared her sexy sunflower-themed birthday photos on the gram and expressed her gratitude to God and her late mother.
The former Big Brother Naija season five finalist wrote, “With each year that goes by, I am more grateful. Thank you to my father in Heaven for perpetually choosing me and thank you to my mother in heaven for birthing me, raising me, supporting me and loving me unconditionally. Everything I am today is because of everything that you are.
P.S.: 25 feels soooo sexy. Happy New Year Everyone.”
Moyo Lawal
Award-winning Nollywood actress, Moyo Lawal, also made the list of Nigerian celebrities celebrating their birthdays today.
The actress who is popular for her role in the popular Nigerian soap opera, Tinsel, shared stunning photos in yellow regalia and wrote,
“Happy Birthday Moyobaby
Another amazing new year is here and I am so grateful for everything. My heart is happy and my joy is so full. I am just so thankful that in spite of how short (this should be literally, yes)…, I fall as a human being, God almighty and some amazing Angels in human forms still come through for me.”
Moyo also added that she is excited to see what the year has to offer and that she will try putting effort into things she normally would not do.
Venita 
In a few words, another Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ housemate and Actress, Venita Akpofure marks her 36th birthday and shared a sultry image to celebrate her big day.
She wrote, “36th Floor!”
Frodd
Chukwuemeka Okoye, popularly known as Frodd, marks his birthday in style as he shares a photo of himself in traditional regalia customised with his face on his Instagram page.
The second runner-up of the Big Brother Naija season four wrote, “Happy Birthday to Me. Last year was a blessing to me, let’s replay a successful year but with God’s bigger plan.”
