Nollywood actress and body positivity advocate, Monalisa Stephen has reacted to Singer Teni’s post on her dramatic weight loss.

BlackBox Nigeria earlier reported that the ‘Billionaire’ crooner, in a video shared on her verified Twitter page, revealed that she decided to lose weight for fear of untimely death.

Reacting to the post, Monalisa turned to her Twitter page to tell the singer that it isn’t in her place to tell people what to do with their bodies.

She wrote, “It’s not in your place to tell people what to do with their bodies. Lose weight if it’s affecting you but don’t assume I am unhealthy because I am fat. Fat is not the problem Fat Stigma is.”

Monalisa took advantage of the opportunity to speak for her body as she tweeted that she is fat and very proud of it and that fat people are living and surviving like everyone else.

She said, “I am Fat and very Proud about it. If you don’t like my Fat Body, That’s your problem. Happy New Year.”

“Stop putting fat people up for dragging. We just living like everyone. Lose weight but stop the BS,” she added.

Monalisa also directed her post to celebrities who gained fame while being fat but went on a weight loss journey afterwards and told them to lose weight in peace and not hide under fat phobic.

“For all y’all celebs who we supported because you’re fat and flourishing. But after you gain the fanbase and lose weight which is not the problem, lose weight in peace, don’t be fat phobic now and say “I remember when I was fat.” Fat na bad thing but you gain sympathy and support from the fat community to get there.

“Be nice. Fat no be disease. Shut up already and lose your weight in peace,” Stephen added.
