Senator Tokunbo Abiru has secured a unanimous endorsement from the leadership of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos East for his re-election bid ahead of the 2027 senatorial contest.
Abiru, who currently represents Lagos East Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), described the endorsement as a humbling expression of confidence in his stewardship and legislative performance.
In a statement, the senator said the backing of the influential party body serves as both recognition of the work done so far and a renewed call to higher service. He noted that the endorsement places a greater responsibility on him to sustain impactful representation and further advance the welfare of constituents across the district.
The lawmaker expressed appreciation to the GAC leadership and other stakeholders within the APC, acknowledging their trust and continued guidance.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating ongoing developmental efforts, pledging to work diligently towards the progress, unity, and prosperity of Lagos East if re-elected.
The endorsement by the GAC, a key decision-making organ within the Lagos APC, is expected to significantly shape political alignments ahead of the party’s primaries for the 2027 general elections.
