Ikoyi $43m: Wike Asks Rivers State Christians To Pray Fervently For Quick Return Of Cash

The Rivers State Governor, Barr Nyesom Wike has called on Christians of the State to pray fervently for God’s quick intervention so that the raw cash of $43m found in Ikoyi apartment be returned to the State.

During his speech at the Saint Peter’s Anglican Church, Rumueprikom to mark the Easter celebration, Governor Wike told the church it has the responsibilty to pray to God so that He will touch the Federal Government to return the money to the coffers of Rivers State, where it rightfully belongs.

He said, “We need the prayer of the church, because there is nothing that prayer cannot do. Pray that God should touch the Government of Nigeria, so that they will return the money to us. What we are interested is for the money to come back to us.”

The former Minister of Education stated that he never declared war on the FG as being falsely peddled by his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transport. He stated that he has only requested that the money be returned to the State.

“I cannot declare war on the federal government. Anybody bringing Buhari’s name, should leave Buhari and face his own problems. The issue is who kept the money at the Ikoyi residence. The money was kept there by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi. No amount of blackmail, no amount of distraction will stop us from getting our money.”

Venerable Israel Omosioni, the Vicar of the Church stated that the execution of projects across the State by the Wike-led governments needs commendation and additional funds. He said God will answer the prayers of the people of the State so that the Ikoyi cash will be retunred.
