The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on his emergence as the presidential flagbearer of the ruling party.
BlackBox Nigeria had reported that the former Lagos State governor polled 1,271 votes to defeat his closest challenger, the immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi who scored 316 votes, while Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Senate President Ahmad Lawan got 235 and 152 votes, respectively.
In a tweet on Wednesday afternoon, Atiku, a former Vice President, noted that Tinubu’s victory at the “hard-fought” presidential primary confirms the tenacity of the APC leader.
“Congratulations, @officialABAT, on your emergence as your party’s presidential candidate. It has been a hard-fought contest, but that you prevailed confirms your tenacity. -AA,” he wrote.

It would be recalled that Tinubu had congratulated the former Vice President upon his emergence as the PDP presidential flagbearer, describing the latter as a “worthy opponent”.
The 70-year-old Tinubu and the 75-year-old Atiku would be locking horns at the presidential polls next year.
