Yoruba Actor, Broadcaster And Poet, Chief Adebayo Faleti Dies At 86

 

Respected and widely known Yoruba poet, journalist, actor, writer and broadcaster, Chief Adebayo Faleti is dead. The Legendary actor died at the age of 86 years.

Adebayo, who was born on December 26th, 1930, is a well known and respected broadcaster as he was a pioneer presenter, of the first television Station in Africa, the Western Nigeria Television.

As at the time of filing this report, no much update surrounding his death has been revealed but they are indications he died in the ancient city of Ibadan, Oyo State.

Also known as a standard Yoruba translator as he translated the National Anthem from English to Yoruba. He also translated speeches of some Heads of State while they were in service.

Popularly called Alagba Adebayo Faleti, he has many notable awards to himself, both local and international recognitions.

He is also a holder of the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic of the Nigeria, a national honour.
