LYA 2.0: Investigative Journalists Hundeyin, Soyombo, Others Nominated For Lagos Youth Awards

Sequel to the earlier release of the list of nominees for each category of the second edition of the forthcoming Lagos Youth Awards (LYA), investigative journalists David Hundeyin and Fisayo Soyombo have both been shortlisted for the Most Outstanding Young Person in Journalism category.

BBN360, the organizers of the award ceremony, earlier today released the full list of all nominees for each category to be awarded.

David Hundeyin is a renowned journalist, writer, and media personality. He serves as correspondence for many media outlets, such as The Africa Report, Freelance, CNN, and BusinessDay Nigeria.

He’s presently serving as the Editor of West Africa Weekly. His most recent controversial work was on the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu. He did an investigation into Tinubu’s long-time drug case.

Multiple award-winning ‘Fisayo Soyombo, is the Founder of Foundation of Investigative Journalism (FIJ). He was the pioneer Editor of TheCable; a former Editor of the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR); and the immediate past Managing Editor of Sahara Reporters. He is well-known for his undercover stories that unravel the truth.

His recent work, Prophets of Their Pocket is a 7 episodes report, where he visited various religious bodies and unraveled how the clerics dupe their ignorant victims.

Other journalists nominated for this category include Rotimi Akinola and Jerry Chiemeke.
