Yaya Toure secures coaching role with Tottenham

Ivorian football legend, Yaya Toure has secured a full-time coaching job with Tottenham Hotspur.

Barring any last-minute, the former Manchester City midfielder will resume management duties at Tottenham’s academy in the coming days, after initially joining the club on a part-time basis last December.

The 39-year-old recently completed his coaching course with the Football Association of Wales.

His journey into coaching started in February 2021 when he joined Ukrainian Premier League club Olimpik Donetsk as an assistant manager. He, however, only spent four months in the role.

The three-time Premier League winner then moved to Russian Premier League side Akhmat Grozny, but left the club in December.

Toure is expected to be joined in his new role by fellow Premier League legend Jermain Defoe, who is close to agreeing to become an academy coach at Spurs.
