The Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Legislative Council has honoured Ayodeji Rilwan Tinubu, popularly known as ART 25, with the Exceptional and Visionary Leader Award. The recognition highlights his contributions and leadership potential as he vies for the chairmanship of Lagos Mainland Local Government.
The award presentation took place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, during a plenary session held at the council chamber. Hon. Olujobi Tajudeen, the Legislative Leader, described Tinubu as a dynamic and forward-thinking leader with the capability to drive meaningful change in Lagos Mainland Local Government.
“Tinubu’s track record as a young and vibrant leader makes him the right person to usher in positive transformations for Lagos Mainland. His visionary approach aligns with our aspirations for sustainable development,” Tajudeen said.
The event also served as a platform for legislative members to reflect on their recent international leadership training seminars in Oxford, London, and Kenya. Hon. Shola Thomas commended Tinubu for facilitating their visits to Suffolk County Council and Ipswich Borough Council. “His support broadened our perspective, equipped us with valuable skills, and inspired us to better serve our constituents,” Thomas remarked.
Hon. Babajide Adetona, the Majority Leader, expressed gratitude for Tinubu’s role in enhancing the council’s learning experiences. “His hospitality and assistance were instrumental in ensuring we returned with actionable insights to improve governance,” Adetona noted.
In his acceptance speech, Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the legislative council to foster growth in Yaba LCDA and Lagos Mainland Local Government. He reflected on his long-standing ties with the council, which date back to the 4th Assembly, and pledged unwavering support for their initiatives.
