A 45-year-old woman was found dead in the house of her ex-lover, leading to the arrest of the suspect, Bankole Oginni, by the Ondo State Police Command.
The victim’s identity has not been disclosed by the police.
The shocking discovery was made by the deceased woman’s daughter, who reported the matter to the authorities.
Upon entering the suspect’s residence in the Oke Aro area of Akure, the state capital, she found her mother’s lifeless body with her hands and legs tied, and some body parts removed.
Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway.
The body of the deceased has been taken to a hospital morgue.
The suspect, who claimed to be a footballer, is now in custody, awaiting further legal proceedings.
