Nigerian musician, Balogun Ayodeji Ibrahim popularly known as Wizkid, is believed to be entitled to another Grammy award next year.
The one-time Grammy award winner released his fourth studio album, Made In Lagos, in October, 2020.
As at the week of release, the album became the highest charting album by a Nigerian artiste in US iTunes history chart (#3 peak) and had over 100,000,000+ streams in that same week.
Also, the album has been on the Billboard World Album’s chart since time of release causing it to spend a total of 41 weeks on the chart.
Not only that, Made in Lagos, ranks as the number one album in the whole world, according to the Billboard chart as at 24th August.
A fan had even asked American singer-songwriter, Alicia keys on Twitter if she had listened to the album, and she replied saying, “yes, pure fire.”
Meanwhile, an online influencer and a medical doctor in the UK, Dr. Oluwafunmilayo, recently took to his Twitter page and said, “After spending 41weeks on Billboard World Chart, Wizkid’s Made in Lagos is now the number 1 album in the whole world on the Billboard chart. The Grammy deal is done now.”
Alongside his tweet is a photo showing the number of weeks the album has spent on the chart to be 41, its peak date to be August 28, 2021 and its peak position to be number 1.
The post has since gotten many reactions, comments and re-tweets from fans who believe the Afrobeat singer deserves another Grammy plaque.
