The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike, is reportedly gearing up to announce his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on December 15, 2023.
According to The Boss Newspaper, the Minister, currently affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while occupying a ministerial role in the APC cabinet, is slated to declare his defection to the ruling party on December 15, 2023.
Notably, Wike, a key political figure, had allegedly worked against his own party’s interests during the presidential election, contributing to a narrow victory for the APC in Rivers State.
This move marked a significant departure from his public commitment to the PDP.
On Monday morning, 27 lawmakers from the Rivers State House of Assembly, known for their allegiance to Wike, defected from the PDP to join the APC, further fueling speculation about the Minister’s impending move.
