By On Saturday, February 5, Liberty Stadium in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital will play host to thousands of youths at the maiden edition of the Progressives Youth Festival.
The much-anticipated sociopolitical gathering is organised by the Youth Wing of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Participants will be drawn from all the states in the Southwest region — Ondo, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ekiti — as well as Kwara State.
According to the organisers, the Progressives Youth Festival is designed to ensure that young people become more involved in the political space by leveraging on the gains of the recent #ENDSARS protests. The event is set to achieve 3 Es — ENTERTAIN, ENERGIZE and EMPOWER.
“This is not the event for sharing rice or kerosene but to engage with, encourage and open new doors for one another and birth the avenue for us to rise to our collective electoral peak,” they said.
Beyond serious deliberations on national issues and the forthcoming general elections, the event will feature loads of side attractions such as musical performances, comedy, funding for young political aspirants and a chance to win a whooping N10 Million Naira in a raffle draw.
