The newly-launched digital wallet, E-naira speed wallet has disappeared from Google play store–a digital distribution service distributed and operated by Google, due to poor reviews.

Barely 48 hours after the launch of the digital app, it was observed that the speed wallet wasn’t on Google Play Store anymore for downloads.

Recall that the digital currency — first in Africa — was launched on Monday.

The digital currency has two applications– eNaira speed wallet and eNaira Merchant wallet, which were rolled out on Google Play Store and the Apple Store on Monday.

Notably, the speed wallet has to be downloaded before the eNaira can be assessed.

Although it had been said that the speed wallet allows fast and easy financial transactions, reviews from users have shown otherwise.

As of Tuesday evening, the speed wallet has had about 2,150 reviews with many complaining of glitches causing the app to be removed from Google Store as many Nigerians have expressed their dissatisfaction in the site’s comment section.

“Every single attempt to get registered on the platform seem futile. It kept giving a prompt invalid BVN whereas my BNN is valid,” a user commented.

One Oscar Alexander, another dissatisfied user gave the app a one star rating and said: “I tried registering the first time. Told me there was no email attached to my BVN. I tried my other bank account. It told me invalid account number. Lol. Now it says too many attempts with the same BVN. What a joke!”

Meanwhile, a notice on the eNaira website explained how the currency and the wallet would operate.

“Get Ready With Your Accurate BVN Data For Your Hitch-Free Enrolment.”

“To sign-up on the eNaira speed wallet, you would be required to input the following details exactly as captured during your BVN enrollment.”

“First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, State of Origin, and Email.”

“Your banks are waiting to assist you in validating and updating your BVN details to ensure seamless enrolment to the eNaira platform,” the notice read.

However, the app is currently available on the Apple app store with slightly above average — 2.6 over 5 ratings.
