Former Super Eagles player and Atlanta ‘96 Olympic gold medalist, Tijani Babangida has been involved in a car accident BlackBox Nigeria has learnt.
According to media personality, Osasu Obayiuwana, the former Ajax FC star was in the fatal crash which unfortunately claimed the life of his younger brother, Ibrahim Babangida.
Asides his brother, BlackBox Nigeria has also learnt that the accident had Tijani’s wife and occurred along Kaduna-Zaria Road.
The incident has also been confirmed by Tijani’s former teammate, Emmanuel Babayaro is the Secretary General of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria.
Babayaro shared, “Comrades! Let us be in prayers for our president, Tijani Babangida, who just had a ghastly motor accident along the Kaduna-Zaria Road”.
“Ibrahim Babangida, his younger brother, died on the spot from the accident while Mr President (Babangida) and his family were taken to the hospital”, Babayaro further revealed.
50-year-old Tijani Babangida is the President of the PFAN.
