Unlucky At Anfield! Liverpool Spoils Man City Unbeaten Run
Jurgen Klopp’s men were the better side as they bring an end to the unbeaten run of Manchester City in the current 2017/18 English Premier League campaign. The 7-goal thriller match had Liverpool cruise ahead of the League leaders who have gone on 18 matches without a loss.
Liverpool started the first half on a good note as they had chances and an early one was converted into the back of the net by new signing, Oxlade-Chamberlain. But the visitor’s hope was restored by Leroy Sane before the half came to an end.
Despite having a good start into the 2nd half, City came under attack as goals from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salahput them in a rather bad shape. The three goals were scored in a time frame of 10mins.
Succour however came to the visitors close to the end of the match as the duo of Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Guendogan scored a goal each giving their side a huge relief with pressure on the host. But the tempo was kept in check as the match ended 4-3 in favour of Liverpool, leaving City with no point from the clash.
League leaders, Manchester City who have been invisible in all Competitions this season came into today’s macth with 22 games won and 2 drawn without losing any game. But the awkward result at Anfield Stadium has no negative effect on their position as their remain in the 1st position with 15 points away from 2nd place Manchester United.
